Tikal – Mayan Metropolis

Tikal (Guatemala) was the capital of a conquest state that became one of the most powerful kingdoms of the ancient Maya. It dates back to 4th century BC.

I have visited it in 2008, four years before the end of Mayan calendar. Today we know that the end of the world procrastinated by some didn’t happen.
